Author Guidelines
ARIV: Journal of Islamic Education is a peer-reviewed and open-access scholarly journal published twice a year. The journal welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, conceptual papers, and book reviews related to Islamic education and interdisciplinary Islamic studies:
- Philosophy of Islamic Education
- Sufistic Spiritual Education
- Islamic Ethics and Moral Education
- Muslim Educational Thought
- Qur’anic Studies in Education
- Hadith Studies in Education
- Islam and Cultural Studies
- Islam, Society, and Civilization
- Contemporary Issues in Islamic Education
- Islamic Educational Leadership and Transformation
- Interdisciplinary Studies on Islam and Humanity
Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal for consideration.
All manuscripts must pass a plagiarism screening process using Turnitin. ARIV: Journal of Islamic Education allows a maximum similarity index of 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision before further consideration.
To be considered for publication, manuscripts should:
- Be written in clear academic English or Bahasa Indonesia
- Consist of approximately 6,000–10,000 words
- Be typed in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format
- Use Times New Roman 12 pt font
- Use 1.15 line spacing on A4-size paper
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Editors reserve the right to edit manuscripts for language, clarity, and formatting consistency without changing the substance of the work.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should consist of the following sections:
- Title
- Author(s)’ Name, Affiliation, and Email Address
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Findings and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgement (if applicable)
- References
Title
- The title should be concise, clear, and academically appropriate.
- The title should not exceed 14 words.
- The title must reflect the content of the manuscript.
- The title should be written in bold and capitalized appropriately.
- The title should be written in English.
Author(s)’ Name, Affiliation, and Email Address
- Authors’ names should be written without academic titles.
- For multiple authors, names should be separated by commas.
- Institutional affiliation and email address must be provided.
Abstract
The abstract should briefly explain:
- the background of the study,
- research objectives,
- methodology,
- major findings,
- and the significance of the study.
The abstract should be written in English and Bahasa Indonesia and should not exceed 250 words.
Keywords
Keywords should consist of 3–5 important terms representing the core concepts of the article.
Introduction
The introduction should include:
- background of the study,
- literature review or previous studies,
- research gap and novelty,
- research objectives,
- and methodology.
Authors should clearly demonstrate the originality and contribution of the article.
Findings and Discussion
This section should present:
- research findings,
- data analysis,
- responses to research questions,
- and theoretical or conceptual interpretation of the findings.
Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the major findings and explain their implications. Suggestions for future research may also be included.
Acknowledgement
Acknowledgements may be provided for institutions, funding agencies, collaborators, research assistants, or individuals who contributed significantly to the research.
References
- References should include at least 30 scholarly sources.
- Approximately 60%–80% of references should come from journal articles and primary academic sources.
- References should preferably be published within the last 10 years.
- Secondary references should not exceed 15% of total references.
- References and citations should follow the APA Style edisi 7 (7th edition)
The use of reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero is strongly recommended.
Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures should be centered and properly numbered.
- Table titles should appear above the table.
- Figure captions should appear below the figure.
- Images should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Arabic–Latin Transliteration
Arabic transliteration should follow the official Indonesian transliteration guideline: Pedoman Transliterasi Arab–Latin SKB Dua Menteri Tahun 1987.
Copyright
Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, authors are required to complete and sign a copyright transfer agreement provided by the journal.
