PENDIDIKAN SPIRITUAL SUFISTIK UNTUK MENGATASI KEHAMPAAN SPIRITUAL DI ERA DIGITAL: STUDI PADA MAJELIS TAKLIM AL-KAUTSAR

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed modern society, including the emergence of spiritual emptiness characterized by declining self-reflection, increasing individualism, and weakening internalization of spiritual values. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of spiritual emptiness in the digital era, examine the role of majelis taklim in strengthening community spirituality, and formulate a reconstruction model of Sufistic spiritual education that is relevant to the needs of contemporary society. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at the Al-Kautsar Mosque Majelis Taklim in Padang City, Indonesia. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and literature review, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The findings reveal that spiritual emptiness in the digital era constitutes a multidimensional phenomenon associated with psychological, social, moral, and religious aspects. The study further demonstrates that majelis taklim functions as a space for reconstructing community spirituality through the reinforcement of spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, and psychological dimensions. Moreover, this research proposes a reconstruction model of Sufistic spiritual education consisting of four primary dimensions: riyadhah, mujahadah, muhasabah, and ukhuwah. This model integrates the loss of adab perspective proposed by Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, the concept of spiritual education developed by Al-Ghazali, spiritual pedagogy, and community-based education. The study contributes to the development of contemporary Islamic education discourse by formulating a holistic, humanistic, and transformative spiritual education model capable of addressing the moral, psychological, social, and spiritual challenges of the digital era, while also offering a conceptual framework applicable to Islamic education and community-based spiritual development programs.
